Terms & Conditions
The agreement between you and Site Sorted when you order a website.
Last updated: 5 July 2026
These terms and conditions (the “Terms”) set out how Site Sorted (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides its website design service to you (“you”, the “Client”). By ordering a website from us, or by paying our fee, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully — in particular section 3, which explains the size and scope of the website we provide.
1. About us & these Terms
Site Sorted provides a fast, fixed-scope website design service for small businesses across the United Kingdom. These Terms form the entire agreement between you and us and replace any earlier discussions or representations. If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest will continue to apply.
2. Definitions
- Service — the design, build and launch of a small website as described in these Terms.
- Website — the website we build for you under the Service.
- Page — a single web page reachable from your Website’s navigation (for example: Home, About, Services, Gallery or Contact).
- Build Fee — the one-off fee to design and launch your Website.
- Monthly Plan — the recurring monthly fee for hosting, maintenance and updates.
- Content — the text, images, logos and other materials you provide for your Website.
3. Scope of the service
3.1 The Service provides a professionally designed Website of between three (3) and five (5) Pages. This is a fixed-scope product designed to get small businesses online quickly and affordably.
3.2 The Service is not a large, multi-section or bespoke website. It does not include websites of more than five Pages, nor complex features or functionality (see section 5).
3.3 If you need more than five Pages, additional features, or a larger project, we may be able to help under a separate written quotation agreed before any work begins. Any such work is not covered by the Build Fee or these standard Terms.
4. What’s included
The Build Fee includes:
- A professionally designed Website of three to five Pages;
- Mobile-first, responsive design that works on phones, tablets and desktops;
- A contact method (contact form and/or click-to-call and email links);
- Basic on-page search-engine optimisation (page titles, descriptions and structure);
- An SSL certificate (HTTPS) and initial hosting setup;
- Registration of one standard domain name for the first year (subject to availability);
- Twelve (12) months of support for the Website we build (see section 12).
5. What’s not included
Unless agreed in a separate written quotation, the Service does not include:
- Websites larger than five Pages;
- Online shops, e-commerce, checkouts or payment processing;
- Customer log-in areas, membership or account systems;
- Booking, scheduling or appointment systems;
- Ongoing blog or article writing, or large content libraries;
- Bespoke web applications, databases or custom-coded functionality;
- Multi-language or region-specific versions of the Website;
- Professional copywriting beyond light editing of the Content you supply;
- Logo design, branding or professional photography;
- Third-party software, plugins or subscriptions that carry their own fees.
6. Timescales & “same day”
6.1 We aim to design and launch your Website the same day. “Same day” means the same working day, and depends on you providing all required Content and approvals promptly and on our normal working hours and capacity.
6.2 Where Content is delayed, incomplete or requires clarification, timescales will extend accordingly. Same-day delivery is a genuine aim but is not a guaranteed or contractual deadline.
7. Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate business details and the Content you want on your Website in good time;
- Confirm that you own, or have permission to use, all Content you supply (including images, logos and text);
- Ensure your Content is lawful, accurate and not misleading, and does not infringe anyone else’s rights;
- Review and approve your Website at launch;
- Keep your domain, hosting and account details secure.
We are not responsible for errors, omissions or legal issues arising from Content you supply.
8. Pricing & payment
8.1 The Build Fee is a one-off charge payable before your Website is launched, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
8.2 The Monthly Plan is charged monthly in advance and covers hosting, maintenance and updates as described in section 9.
8.3 All fees are in pounds sterling (GBP). Where applicable, taxes will be shown separately.
8.4 If a payment is not made when due, we may suspend the Website and related services until payment is received. Continued non-payment may result in the Website being taken offline.
9. The monthly plan & cancellation
9.1 The Monthly Plan keeps your Website online and maintained. It covers hosting, security and SSL renewals, routine maintenance and reasonable content updates on request.
9.2 The Monthly Plan is a rolling monthly subscription. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid month and no further payments will be taken.
9.3 If the Monthly Plan is cancelled or lapses, hosting and maintenance end. Your Website will be taken offline, and hosted services (including any associated email routing) will stop. On request before cancellation, we will provide a copy of your Website’s Content.
9.4 The Build Fee is separate from and non-refundable against the Monthly Plan.
10. Domain names
10.1 Where a domain name is included, we register one standard domain for the first year, subject to availability. Renewal after the first year may be chargeable.
10.2 You are the owner of your domain name. On request, and provided your account is up to date, we will help transfer the domain to you or another provider.
11. Hosting & availability
We use reputable third-party infrastructure to host your Website. While we aim for high availability, we do not guarantee that the Website will be available without interruption, and we are not liable for downtime caused by hosting providers, networks or events outside our reasonable control.
12. Revisions & changes
12.1 During the build, one round of reasonable revisions is included to get your Website right at launch.
12.2 After launch, reasonable content updates (such as changing text, images or contact details) are included while you are on the Monthly Plan.
12.3 New Pages beyond the agreed scope, redesigns, or new features are not included and will be quoted separately.
13. Intellectual property
13.1 You retain ownership of the Content you provide.
13.2 Once the Build Fee is paid in full, you may use your Website for your business. The underlying templates, code, design systems and tools we use to build websites remain our property or that of their respective owners, and are licensed to you for use as part of your Website, not sold.
13.3 We may reference the fact that we built your Website as an example of our work, unless you ask us in writing not to.
14. Search engines & results
We build your Website following good basic SEO practice, but search engine rankings, traffic, enquiries and sales depend on factors outside our control. We do not guarantee any particular position in Google or other search engines, or any level of visitors or business.
15. Acceptable use
You must not use the Website or Service for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful, or to publish content that is illegal, defamatory, or infringes the rights of others. We may suspend or remove any Website that breaches this section.
16. Liability
16.1 Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law.
16.2 Subject to 16.1, our total liability to you arising out of the Service is limited to the total fees you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months before the claim.
16.3 We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of data.
17. Data protection
We handle personal data in line with UK data protection law. We only use the information you provide to deliver the Service and to communicate with you about it. We do not sell your personal data.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you place your order applies to that order. The “last updated” date above shows when they were last changed.
19. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of Scotland.
